In the present year, cancer diagnoses are projected to surpass 1 million cases in the United States and exceed 10 million cases worldwide. Although commonly perceived as a preventable disease, only a small percentage of cancer cases (5-10%) can be attributed to genetic defects, while the majority (90-95%) are influenced by environmental and lifestyle factors. Lifestyle factors encompass habits such as smoking, dietary choices (e.g., consumption of fried foods and red meat), alcohol intake, sun exposure, exposure to environmental toxins, infections, stress, obesity, and physical inactivity. Research suggests that approximately 25-30% of cancer-related deaths are attributable to tobacco use, 30-35% to diet, 15-20% to infections, and the remaining percentage to factors such as radiation, stress, physical activity, and environmental pollutants. Consequently, cancer prevention necessitates actions like quitting smoking, increasing consumption of fruits and vegetables, moderate alcohol consumption, calorie restriction, regular exercise, limited sun exposure, reduced meat intake, and incorporation of whole grains. This review highlights the connection between inflammation and both the causes and prevention of cancer, emphasizing the potential for lifestyle changes to significantly reduce cancer risk.

Three-Month Meeting Details:

During the three-month period, the following meeting arrangements and support will be provided:
